Robert, I am so pleased it created an instant out loud laugh!!!! What a reaction!!! Yea!! I must admit the color is quite shocking! As I painted her I though about young girls 4-8 with perhaps a pocket book, lunch box or tee shirt with the pink pampered pooch. It was so fun to do , I can't wait for her next adventure! Thank you for the critical feedback on the color I will gladly consider this for the next one. Smiles Christine

An instant pleasurable out loud laugh to start my day. The design fits well into Alex Power's guidelines in "Painting People in Watercolor: A Design Approach". It has 10 to 15 shapes whose size are proportionate to the canvas. A shape is defined by a change in color or value. I would put the yellow next to the the violet, the orange next to the blue, for max vibration of color with compliments juxtaposed. The diagonal lines of the umbrella bring the eye to the subject. A well designed painting. We had two "little's" visiting for the weekend with my daughter. Both rescued from mistreatment. Very well behaved and the second I start food preparation they appeared in the kitchen, silently sitting with their asking eyes glued to me.
