Description
The Red Parrot building is listed on the National Register of Historical Places in Newport. It was built in 1898 by John Alton Barker as a meat packing house, where it employed hundreds of people during the era known as "The Gilded Age". Through the years this building has housed a variety of eating establishments serving heads of state, diplomats, royalty, movie stars, the thousands of people visiting Newport each year and now you as it has become the busiest restaurant in all of downtown Newport.

Hi Christine. Yes we did go to those other places, amazing. Some very nice mansions in Newport RI, think I need to sell a few more pictures before I can afford one!

My wife and I had a great meal in here Christine on a tour of New England last year, when we had a stopover in Newport RI. Looking at your description seems we were in very good company with some of the diners who had visited in previous years. l/f

Wow, Fantastic you were able to visit, it's such a lovely building. I lived in the area for 25+ years and Newport was always one of my favorite places to go for dinner and walk back in time. Did you get to see the Breakers and Marble house too? Thank you for the Fav David! Smiles, Christine
